I am so glad dear man that you and Kayla and the girls are happy. Each time I visit and talk with them and get the treasure trove of help your cows bless me with I am happy also. There are challenges and what would life be without them, to force you to be a better version of yourself at a time when people have forgotten what a blessing that alone can be....Love you and the butter I made last night from Bella!

Love this, the excitement and humor over the insects. I really love your honesty, too. Frustration and anger are real in any endeavor like this, but, fortunately, so are the rewards! Hard work does (eventually) pay off!

I absolutely belly laughed at your bug trials! I have had the misfortune of slipping into my crocks barefooted, and felt the unmistakable squish of slugs, LOL.

I am in northeast Modesto, but spent my youth in PA. We heated our house with a wood stove from wood we chopped and gathered from the forest behind pur house. We were part of a multi-family farm co-op that shared land, chores and the fruits of all the labor. My mom made everything from scratch and she still gardens and does canning today. I rode horses and worked ranches all through HS. While I have never milked a cow, I’m more than willing to learn if you or your wife want an extra hand. I’m happiest when outside with my critters and plants, so let me know:)
